I took over the "Cave Conditions Updater" position on Friday June 24th and I have only received two reports. They both came on Tuesday July 5th in the afternoon. One was for Alachua Sink and the other was for Hart Black Lagoon. I'm going to update both of these now.

Well it is a nice thing to see updates posted on here but it is always best to call the dive shops around area diving before going. I know they hear all the good and the bad on every location.

    Default Current Cave Conditions

I updated the last two Cave Condition Reports, but they were from 5/29/05 and 5/30/05. Things have changed since then, with all the rain that we had in June.

    I'm looking at Conditions page:
-Is there a cave in Fanning spr? Are springs listed there because cave diving alowed, because of cave exists or because the dive site is just popular? I could not find the cave most close to my home in that list
    - springs conditions report is a moderated feature, maybe that is why it is not updated timely. Should it be more interactive i'm sure updates will follow it.

    Norm,

Is there a cave at Lafayette Blue? Is it diveable, mor to the point, is it worth diving?

    Celia,

Indeed there are CAVES at LB...I was diving the lower portions in the '80's, and many more have dived the upper portions before and since...

When I dove it, it was "open land"; it went private, then County, then the State JUST bought it and re-opened it. Currently closed to Diving, but ONLY until the River water recedes and clear water flows again...

IMHO, the lower portions are among the BEST sites for Cavern/Intro Cave enthusiasts...

Very cool, thank you for the info.
Now I have to wait for the river and get time...

    Dive safe,
