    Default Mine Diving in N.Y.?

I got the following in an email. If you have any information, please let me know.
    -----------------------------------------------
    Hello
I was wondering if you might be of some assistance. I am an owner of an
old natural cement mine in New York, portions of which are flooded. I have
been told that divers have been there and that several thousand feet of
line has been placed by them. This was quite awhile ago. I would be very
interested in speaking with these divers as I am trying to develop a
better understanding of the extent of the flooded portions of the mine. I
dont know how big the fraternity of cave or mine divers is and I realize
they might be reluctant to step forward but my only interest is in knowing
more about the flooded portions of the mine. The only other information I
have is that they might have been from New Jersey. If there is any way the
word could be passed that I am just looking for information I would
greatly appreciate it or if you know of any experienced divers that might
be interested in helping me map the flooded potions that would be great.
Thank you for any assistance you might give.

It's not too far from my location in CT. Are you passing along contact information or should I do that myself.

He is essentially asking me to recommend divers, but I would like to know a little about them first. Send me a PM.

Between the NY, NJ and CT area, I think we could get plenty of guys willing to do it. Count me in.

Before diving I would highly recommend getting the water tested first. Mine water is often acidic and who knows if the mines were used to dump toxic waste. I grew up in the mine country of Northeast Pennsylvania it was not uncommon for organized crime to dump toxic waste down bore holes.
