    Default Wanted-Poseidon omni swivel

Looking for a couple of omni swivels for a odin 2nd stage. It's the large nut ones with a pressure relief valve. The swivels use a standard LP hose. Would like to find some that didn't cost more than my first car.

That looks similar to the Xstream swivel just looking at the picture.

Don't see one listed there specifically for the Odin. If they are different I bet DRIS could get one for you.
Hopefully these don't cost more than your first car..

Odin and Xstream use the same hoses, so the Xstream Ominswivel will work on an Odin. The big problem is them coming apart in mid dive.

Prices range from $89.95 to $109.95, new.

I can save you a lot of time and sumarize the thread many participated in several months ago... cause I'm too lazy to go look for it.

Some people love em and have never had an issue.
Some people have had problems with them (I had 2 go bad on dives and will never use them again)
The bottom line like anthing else is you need to pay close attention to them. The have a screw that loosens, and internal orings that can go bad.

Ah, Heck... http://www.cavediver.net/forum/showt...ghlight=swivel SO I'm not as lazy as I am anal...

    Hope this helps.

Yes, I've read the reports on the generic swivels. I've had a few good ones and a few that never stopped leaking no matter what I tried. I inquired above because I thought there was perhaps something especially ominous about the Posiedon verson with the built-in OPV.

The key to preventing them from coming apart is Loc-Tite. Which, as a technician, I avoid whenever I can.

Yup. As a gunsmith/machinist friend says: "The good thing about Loc-Tite is that it keeps things from coming apart. The bad thing about Loc-Tite is that it keeps things from coming apart."
