Just wondering if anyone knew if there were any caves close to eastern North Carolina?

None that I know of. I know there is a group looking at some sumps in Va, but that's the closest to us, I think.

There are caves in every state, except RI. Many have water in them, but not many are warm, clear, or with easy access. I doubt there are any in eastern NC. There are several in western NC. Check with any NC NSS grotto for more information.

Default Last week cave diving in Tn.

    Just Got back fom Tn.
Tn. River (Louden) we had directions to the 100 yard wide rock face on the river/lake - man made because of the dam. We went by boat, that did not have a tec. friendly ladder. Depth 65' at 20' feet vis truned to 12" to 18" (that is if you can touch it you might be able to see it) Clay silt on everything. We never found the entrance. We were basicly feeling along the wall for a hole to crawl into, and thumbed the dive after 17 minn due to 47 deg. temp. Had more fun in the dry caves in that area and that was 57 deg. "Note to self, add hood and argon next year" The location is real and confirmed by a geologist @ TVA.
