Default Waynes World (School Sink) 6/15/2009

Took a buddy to the cave that had not dove it yet. Overall a good dive.

Basin : Slightly tannic with a green hue. Slight milky haze in the water column also. Vis 20-30ft.

Cave : Vis was "pretty good" at 30-40ft. Pockets and areas of fresh water all over the cave passages (due to the rains). This created a lot of haloclines in the system. Mainstreet has a halocline for most of the passage, thus diver #2 (me) could do the dive without a mask.

Both of us had breathers for this dive, thus the "rock rain shower" at deco wasn't to bad. Nice to see one can do deco without having to wonder if the next breath will cause the "big one" to fall.

Surface : The new fencing seems to have helped with the local traffic. I saw no evidence of recent 4-wheeler traffic and very little evidence of foot traffic. There is erosion taking place at the steps from the water flowing into the sink. Steps are still solid for now.

About a month ago , we had 4 of us doing deco in the , er , uh , Basin , and all were on Open Circuit ( LOL ).

It was actually not bad once we all FOUND our little spot. (SMILE)

We didn't stack one on top of the other. Instead we kind of all took a different angle and we all fit. (EEK)

At least I didn't notice any "BIG ONES" come tumbling down.

    Jean

P.S. I really liked Mainstreet...Very , very nice. Even with the haloclines.

    Default Guides

Who are the guides for Waynes World? The NSS/CDS site indicates that they are listed on the site, but I couldn't find them. Thanks.
