    Default Peacock May 3rd

Couldn't get into Peacock State Park, gate closed and locked. So I took a look at Challange Sink. After fighting off the swarms of "state bird" you can see the very, very tannic water in the sink as well as the flood water line almost up to the top of the sink. Perhaps by Memorial Day Weekend...

Following the NFSA meeting the group toured the park for prep work on the interpretive trail. The park is not flooded and water is up at the 4th step at P1,but it is muddy, and mosquitos are overwhelming. There is an uprooted tree at Pothole that has 3/4 of the road blocked,so vehicular traffic is not an option until the remove the tree. There is a huge boil of tannic water at P1,looks like a very strong Ginnie boil. The changing room in the P1 parking lot has been moved off the foundation, and even carried an anchoring brick with it.

This report is being brought to you by the NFSA alliance (http://northfloridaspringsalliance.org/) Members will get a monthly newsletter with pictures showing the park. $15 is a small sum to support the park and CSO.

    Thanks
    Kelly Jessop,President NFSA

Also,I would add that I doubt we'll see diving there until next month with the amount of tannic water. Contact with the park manager and Peacock Springs Line Committee has already occured to be prepared to start the process.

You have to weigh seeing something unusual to the pint of blood you'll lose from the Florida state birds.
