I work for Gregg, I have never heard that story though.

This arguing will never get us anywhere and we will never see things the same way. I come from an area where no one is restricted access to dive sites and now I live in a place where everything is restricted within an hours drive, minus Harvey's and Guy Revel. Emerald and Clearcut are not open either or many more people would dive there. Requiring trimix certification to dive a site with 100ft or shallower passage is offensive to say the least.

Ah, okay, you work for the shop that stands to most directly financially benefit from opening Wakulla. Makes sense.

Emerald and Clearcut seem open to me. Submit paperwork, wait for approval, then you're free to dive, no guide, no extra fees, etc. I'll take this time to once again thank the committee for their volunteered time reviewing applications and keeping the site open that would otherwise be closed.

I think you're doing more to hurt land access than help. You've got to realize when you post stuff like this stating that you'd go to 200ft on air when 100-130ft END's are very clearly stated in all agency guidelines does not look good on the community to government officials.

Then, at a site that was recently closed after the WCDC built steps at Cream Sink without permission, you decided to publicly declare that you're violating rules on federally managed land. This is a site where diving has been ignored for YEARS, and before divers could even reach out to government officials to see about implementing a diving policy you were boasting about sneak diving it in the daylight.

When you're posting things like this in public, can you honestly go up to a state official and say that you follow cave diving guidelines and are a respectful user of public lands?

Maybe they should require trimix to dive Peacock and Peacock III since they both have places over 200'. I believe ginnie gets over 150' eventually too.

The site wasn't closed because of the steps, it was closed due to liability reasons that the feds didn't want to deal with(divers dying). While the WCDC didn't have written permission to build steps, we had oral permission from one of the rangers onsite.

You may not have been aluding to a cause for a given affect, but your statement reads like it... and its not correct.

I wish I had that sign that used to hang at Emerald, something about no trespassing, surveillance, and the WKPP.

Wow - what a discussion. If anyone wonders why WKPP has a bad reputation only needs to follow this thread. Individuals put a lot of effort into derailing the whole argument. When you guys are done pounding your chest, I suggest to close this thread and move on.
