Because we are all saddened by the passing of :blackbar

It was a good rule, a kind rule, a rule that evoked emotion in the hearts of everyone that was busted by it, for good or evil. ps - I suggest that we retire the #6, place its blackbar on the wall of fame, and come up with another number. How about #6a?

I propose a friendly amendent to your motion to retire rule #6 and call the new rule #6a.

let's call the new rule #6r, where the r is for revised. this way we will all remember the times before revision (br?) as we enjoy the times after revision (ar?). you may of course reject the friendly amendent, with no reproach!

With the elimination of Rule 6: is there any possibility the soon to be promoting of instructors, friends and businesses and the subsequent direct or indirect bashing of "same", could be directed to a different page? Perhaps this would lessen the workload for the moderators and free everyone else to express themselves.

I was also thinking about this and I like the idea. I can't say this will happen yet; it depends upon a decision by the moderators. If it does happen, what should we call the "Promotion Forum"?

Eliminating Rule 6 may be an opportunity to expand the forum and not at the detriment of the main current forums.

For instance:
a new page for equipment gripes / compliments

a new page for good businesses or gripes

and another new page for complimenting others ......or complaining.

The main page could continue for diving tips, advices, events, .....

This may reduce the moderators workload, allow more varied posts, and even sequester the flaming to specific areas.

I have to say that CDF is a great place to exchange idea and I am very happy with my experience here. I would also like to say TJ is a great guy and runs a great board. :-D

To the Mods: Kudos for testing the pulse of your audience and being amenable to change. Just to reiterate a couple of the posts here – you all provide a great service with little or no thanks (but sometimes lots of brouhaha).
