Sadly you are correct. There are a number of people I used to dive with that won't even talk to me anymore, apparently my diving is not up to there standards....


I'm as big a proponent as anyone about getting facts out after an incident, but I can sure understand the reluctance in wanting to deal with the backlash.

What backlash? The two recent incidents where information has been quickly and transparently released, the groups have been commended for their honesty and willingness to learn from mistakes.

What backlash?

I've been told Richard's death was my fault. That I don't know how to dive, and my favorite that my level of risk is not compatible with the team. All by people I thought were friends.

Fortunately I no longer have to deal with any of them, but it made for some pretty crappy times for a while, especially heaped on top of dealing with watching a good friend die.

If there was any trepedation about diving with you, the report you released erased it. I'd dive with you anytime(that we can get our schedules to actually work - LOL). I think you handled the situation as good as anyone could hope for...

Just started reading this thread yesterday after a friend told me about it (I have been in a shell the last few days). Glad all are OK. Thank you Edd for your help.
