I agree. I know both these guys and can tell you they are not in for mudslinging unless it is in a hole somewhere. The shop was a dream that just happened to fall into reality. These guys are here for one purpose... Diving. With that, they only wish to bring about a means for all divers to enjoy what the big bend area has to offer. After diving in this area for years, the two decided this was the place for them. They are both cave and trimix instructors and board members of the Aquatic Science Association Inc.

With that said, they are open and providing fills. Any other information you can contact them directly at steve@caveconnectionsflorida.com or colin@caveconnectionsflorida.com.

What the hell is the Aquatic Science Association Inc.? It looks like a business, being incorporated, but you made it sound like a non-profit. Plus I cannot find it anywhere on the internet.

Also on their website they have a "Guided Dives" section, where do they plan on guiding dives next to Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park? Almost all the caves in the area are closed off. Are they a GUE/WKPP shop? That would be the only way I would see them being able to guide dives in anything other than Clear Cut or Emerald.

I'm not so sure why you're instantly challenging a shop that hasn't even opened yet. I'm sure they could set you up with a guided dive at Indian when it's the season for it, Harveys, or Emerald/Clearcut if you don't have a dive buddy. The Wacissa has several nearby caves and Jackson Blue is just as close as High Springs instructors who advertise guided Peacock dives.

If they sell trimix that you can get FAST who cares?

Thank you for the update. I really appreciate someone opening a shop nearby to WSSP to hopefully get a better turnout at Clearcut and Emerald as well as Indian during season. With how often these are blown out and closed it's no doubt a tough spot, but I'll be sure to stop by and check it out next time I'm in the area.

I am not challenging it, just asking some simple questions. Does that offend your sensibilities? If so, I am extremely sorry.

Hmmm people that just moved into the area giving me a guided dive in Indian or people who have been there for years and dove it consistently, I chose the latter of the two.

Why in god's name would I pay someone to drive 2 hours to Jackson Blue to guide my dive? I would much rather have Edd do that or anyone else who dives there weekly for that matter. High Springs is 45 min from Peacock, vs Wakulla Area to JB is more like 2 hours. So your comparison is simply invalid.

Trimix is trimix, why would I drive all the way over in the middle of nowhere Wakulla to buy it when I can stay on a highway to get it? Unlike you, the rest of us don't get to dive Wakulla.

Jordan both of those guys have more time in those caves than you can come close too for years and did dives a lot deeper and more complex than you have experienced. Maybe you should find out about them before ranting.

Kevin, it doesn't mean that they know the local caves better than a lot of people that live in the area. Hell I was even going to throw your name out there for JB, but I didn't know if you did guided dives. Plus, just because someone has more dives does not make them a better diver, you know that.

These guys do know the caves there that well. That's the point. Colin showed me tons in JB and he knows peacock better than most I have met. He averaged well over 100 dives in the area for over ten years, both of them actually. Just remember, just because they don't cyber dive like a lot of us doesn't mean they are unknown. And yeah, you are right. Five numbers dont mean much as far as ability, diving with these two is like diving with Edd. They are jam up.

    Jordan,
Just because you don't understand something is not a reason for you to get your nickers in a twist. These guys are good, they can and will guide locally and there are a lot more caves to dive than you've been given access to. There enough room in this area for two shops and I would have no problem in dealing with either of them. Frankly your attitude in this post is one more reason to keep you out of them.
