    Exclamation Reporting Forum Abuse...

We always had a feature that users could report forum abuse, but this afternoon, Pete Murray (netdoc at scubaboard.com) showed me a trick he uses to help keep that board 'moderated'...

When viewing a thread, note this 'new' icon/button on the bottom left of the frame/screen:

Click on it and it says:
This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts.
Feel free to help moderate this forum by reporting issues to the mods.

    Thumbs up

So the only thing that changed was the icon, correct?

BTW - Did anyone else have a STRONG urge to click the REPORT button on the initial post?

How the reports are handled is different now (not just the icon). All reports go into a moderator accessed only forum... for all moderators, not just one, to see/act on it. Yes, I couldn't resist clicking that icon.. a number of times.... but I get to delete them... but I wasn't the only one... Thanks to all of you that 'test' it for us...

You have touched a nerve from my childhood. I was a victim of fourm abuse in my youth.

This act was carried out by a family member, my older brother, who thought it was acceptable to discuss my childhood flatulance in the open fourm of our classmates. No matter that I suffered from lactose intolerance, the damage was done, and the pharse "fart sack" was born. I was scarred for years by this abuse. Even today, I cannot pass gas without thinking of fourm abuse.

I feel much better to finally be able to discuss this in a open matter. I will be on Springer next month to promote my new book, "The Gassy Have Feelings Too".

    STOP fourm abuse.
