    Default Trick or Treat Dive

What is the Trick Or Treat Dive?

The Trick or Treat dive will be an all-day event this Halloween at Ginnie Springs. The night before Halloween, a number of Orange non-directional markers (Provided generously by Tobin @ Deep Sea Supply) Will be scattered throughout some of the more common passages in Devil's Ear cave system. If you are doing a cave dive at Devil's Ear this Halloween and come across a blaze orange "cookie" with NACD and a number on it, take it! This is your raffle ticket and a chance to claim your "treat" later in the evening.

    Default Swap Meet

Countdown to the NACD Halloween Social!!!!

Don't forget there will be a swap meet at the event. Get all your old gear together and bring it on down to Ginnie on October 31 starting at 9 am. We will have tables set up but bring a tarp in case we run out of room. It has been a while since the last swap meet in cave country so this is your opportunity!

A special thanks to Golem Gear, OMS, and Santi for being a part of our gear demos. Make sure you stop by Devil's to check out their great gear! The demos will be from 9am to 2pm so don't miss out!

We will also have kids activities throughout the day so feel free to bring the whole family! We will have face and pumpkin painting.

Don't forget to dress up for the costume contest! We will have a sign up sheet on hand so we know who dressed up and during dinner everyone will have a chance to vote for their favorite costumes. We will annouce the winners when we do the trick or treat dive prize raffle around dinner time.
Special thanks to the great stores who have offered to make prize/food donations so far: Extreme Exposure, Cave Excursions East, Dive Outpost, Salvo, Santi, and Deep Sea Supply. If you are interested in donating a raffle prize from your business, please pm me!

Bring your favorite Halloween themed snacks and drinks! We don't want to run out of food...we know how hungry cave divers can get.

Also we welcome all the musicians out there to bring your instruments...we'll have a cd player for the day but it would be great to do some songs around the campfire in the evening.

Ginnie has agreed to special discounts on admission (including camping for Friday and Saturday nights!) for members! A big thanks to them, we hope to have a great turnout!

Default Ok, a little over a week until Halloween!!!

Ginnie is also offering free admission for active NACD instructors as a big thank you for using their facility to teach! So come on down and enjoy a non-teaching dive!

Check us out on Facebook: Go to the NACD group and click on the Halloween Social link on the right! See who else is going and invite your friends!

Don't all active instructors get into Ginnie free *all* the time?

Maybe all active cave instructors, but definitely not all instructors.

    Halloween is TOMORROW!!!!

Please stop by Ginnie anytime tomorrow for the NACD Halloween Social. We went food shopping last night so we've got burgers and hot dogs on the menu...chips, smores, candy, soda, and don't forget the keg of Heineken donated by Santi! Feel free to bring your own food and drink as well, but no glass bottles per Ginnie rules. Bring music too if you have it.

A guideline will be run through the Eye and the Ear with cookies on them... you may use these lines in place of your own guideline if you wish, but please verify for yourself that there are no line traps, etc.

    NACD Halloween Party 2008
    Trick or Treat Dive
Last night a phantom diver made his way through the Devil's Cave system and put little orange cookies everywhere. The cookies are numbered and say NACD Halloween on them. The diver also left some prizes on the surface. The prizes are numbered to match the cookies.

    Rules

    1. Dive within your training! We have a map set up near Little Devils with cookie locations on it. There will be cookies within reach of divers level cavern through full cave. Please dive within your level of training.

    2. As you do your dive please refrain from taking any cookies until you have begun your exit. This way you will be taking a cookie *from* farther into the cave, enabling divers at lower levels of training a chance to get cookies closer to the exit.

    3. One cookie per diver!

    4. When you have completed your dive, see Bob Schulte or Elisha Gibson. Turn in your cookie. They will mark the cookie as "found" on the map and give you your prize.

    5. To participate you must be out of the water by 11 pm. Any unclaimed cookies will no longer be worthy of a prize.
