Unhappy Tech Gear Theft in SoCal

I friend and former student called me to day to tell me that his storage was broken into and all his tech gear was stolen. I understand that this a Los Angeles based issue but there are members of this board from the area. I will receive a list of items tomorrow but in short we are certain of the following:

DIR set-up for Atomic B2 regs for doubles
DUI CF200 Signature Series - red and black, turbo booties and bellows pockets
    Halcyon BP and wing

All the typical stuff like Jetfins etc.

Most items were marked with 3 white dots arranged in a triangle or the initials SB. The suit 'may' be labeled Andy Huber.

If anybody is offered any items that match this description, please contact me at 310.261.0040 and see what you can find out about the seller of the items. A comprehensive list will follow. Thank you very much for reading and understanding.

    Andy

I'm sure that's the list he sent to his insurance company. He wouldn't be padding those prices a little, would he?

Ouch! Why no insurance? storage unit not insured? Yikes.

There are 3 kinds of people in this world; those who are good at math, and those who are not.

    Default insurance

    sorry for the loss.....
I would submit it to his homeowners insurance.
as long a he has recepts he has a chance of recovering some of the replacement costs
but next time get dan insurance for his equipment, or take out a rider policy under his home owners/renters insurance for the full replacemnt costs.
I know the Dan equipment insurance is inexpensive and they do pay replacement costs, fairly quick, without too much grief and aggravation.
    best of luck
