Hi
not many places to dive in Chile.
If you want some informations you can look at this :
http://www.centre-terre.fr/
The only places known at this day are in the extreme south of Patagonia on the island of Madre Dios.
I was one of the divers of the 2006 expedition.
It's not an easy access to go there and it' s more difficult to dive there.
And when you are at Madre Dios, you 've to wait a quiet weather...! Sometimes...!
To go to the sumps you have to take a small boat and ride on the sea. You can dive some springs directly from the boat.
But you have to walk in the primary forest with the diving equipement before to found the entrance of the cave...!
Not an easy buisness....!
When I dive the big spring of Los Lobos, the current was very strong. And it's an hard affar to push a dive in thoses conditions...!
But the real and big problem is the very bad weather... Rains and winds are realy awful...!
I think it's very difficult to a lonely diver to go there. Only a big team could do that....!
But, you can believe me, that a great and incredible adventure to go there...!
Best regards.

Very interesting- actually, we are putting together an expedition in 2010, primarily cavers, not cave divers, but I was interested in side options, and wanted to cover everything.
Thanks for the info!

Ya, come on Jason, copter us into Chili....!
Ha! I could only wish. Read the above attachment on their last expedition there very cool write up with only a couple of cave pics- Sounds like it rains a little too much for me, but the crew I know is adamant that they know of caving further south- So we will see how it pans out. Long time away.

Jason...We missed you at TAG!
Ya- I know, sorry guys. Chrissy was there for everyone's entertainment, but the government wouldnt give me enough time off to come up and play. In addition, I had to fly to San Diego for a day, and that pretty much shot the rest of the weekend, caving wise.
