Default Dive Rite Halogen Test Tube/ Halogen lighthead

    Hello Everyone,
I have an old DR 50W TEst Tube Halogen lighthead that I gave to my dad who is pretty nifty in the electrical/machining area, and he is making a light for my uncle (low viz lake diving). He broke the test tube in the shop the other day though, and isnt sure where to get a new tube. Does anyone know if the tube for the H1 on drexpress would work? (http://www.diveriteexpress.com/lights/ltparts.shtml)

Or, another option, does anyone have an old halogen lighthead that is sitting around in their closet they would like to donate to CLUE? http://www.clueshipwrecks.org/

My uncle is Tom Kowalczk, found alot of wrecks in the great Lakes.

Which lighthead do you have? Did it have a short tube, and a black anodized body? Or was it a long tube, and bare aluminum? And no, I don't remember

It is a red aluminum body with a grey reflector.

I don't remember that one, you probably need to call DiveRite. They are very helpful.

FWIW.... I've seen underwater lighting systems for fishing, (like at BassPro) which incorporate the same test tube. It's a 50 halogen bulb, plugged into a 12V boat battery, that's cased in the test tube, and they hang it over the boat to attract fish. Do a search. The entire light system's about $12. I was in Academy Sports today and didn't see them, but I know they're around. Good luck!
