    Default Dive-Rite light problems

Last weekend at Ginnie,my light just went off.I switched it off, then back on and it came on.This happened 4 tmes throughout the dive. One time it didnt come back on so I switched to backup and tried it again in a couple minutes and it came back on.This happened at Madison a while back as well. Its the 10watt HID,the light is 3 years old,the cable is 2 and the bulb is 1.Im thinking a bad connection but cant see one.Its sporatic and somewhat annoying.Id rather it just quit so we'll know.Anybody have any similar problems with a solution?Im not knocking diverite now,I look like a walking, swimming advertisement for the company except for their regs, and Id hate to add my light to the[not so greats].Randy..

I've usually found in the amount of time it takes waiting on all the varied responses from people, that a direct call to Dive Rite could have it diagnosed and fixed. Good luck

Dive Rite has one of the best, if not the best customer service/satisfaction reputations that I know of. Call them.

    Default DR Light

I don't know if it is the same issue but my DR light does the same thing. What I found in mine was the bulb will get loose. Mine is the one with the test tube cover. I just remove the cover and with rubber gloves or a towel I simply seat the bulb and it is fine. Hope this helps.

Mine took a dump at Ginnie yesterday. Bulb will flicker but not ignite, probably the ballist. Since I live close by, I'll take it up to Lake City on Monday for repair. FYI: I'm using the old wreck cannister, 7 years old, 4th cable, 2nd battery, 3rd ballist and countless HID bulbs at $100 a pop. Dive Rite has always repaired my product with unquestionable care and response. However, it might be time for one of the new LED systems for me. I'll talk to Wayne at Amigo's before I have my old trusty HID repaired...Ken

Kelly your right, most questions can be answered elsewhere however I know of a few Diverite employees on the forum and just hate to have to send it out for repairs. Many out here are very resourceful and mcgyverfied and Im looking for a quick fix.Good luck right?I guess Ill start saving for one of the new 12 watt cans.Ill be looking for any of their downfalls when posted,if any.

Is your cord grey, or orange? It it is orange, just go ahead and send the light to DR. If it is gray, call them and tell them the symptoms, they can tell you if it is simple, or needs to be sent in.

Could not have said it any better Kelly. Give them a call first thing Monday morning. I am sure the DR guys can get you squared away quickly.

My 10w HID has been back to Dive Rite going on 3 times and I am now having problems with my backup 10w HID from Dive Rite. Just purchased a used Salvo 21w HID and even with the hugh ballast head reliabilty wasn't an issue.

Went to Salvo to purchase a new O-ring and they replaced the canister cord no charge and on the spot while I waited. Never seen that from DR.

Forrest it came with the red/orange cord and I shipped it back for a black one some time ago.
