Default Irish cave divers in Florida

I am thinking of bringing a few irish cave divers over to florida with me sometime after the summer. Was just wondering if there is any socials or meeting planned in cave country around that time of year.I know they would like to meet as many cave divers and rebreather guys to talk to as possible and do some great dives. I plan on taking them to eagles nest for the final dive hopefully with TJ & Denise. Its just athought of mine at the moment.

If anyone has ideas on where to go meet people can they kindly reply to my post.

    Thanks

Great new Irish Pub in Orlando you could go to so you could feel like you are home. Let TJ know when you are coming in, I would love to dive with you again.

I'm not Irish. Well, Scots-Irish. I am planning on doing some diving with TJ late August or early September and my schedule is flexible. I believe the Nest is on the list as TJ and I will be doing an Advanced Trimix class around that time. Count me in if I survive another Tom Johnson ordeal It will be nice to meet Denise; I didn't get a chance to say Hi the last two times I have been in North Florida.

I may be on the verge of an eight acre home purchase near Branford and if it works out, the deal will close around that time. If the deal works out, all are invited to my (tentative) place. More to follow on that, but TJ will have the details well in advance. Some of you I know but most I don't, and I can't think of a better way to christen a new home and meet new friends than a cave diving get-together!

    Default Irish Diver trip

Hey Brendan, Here are a couple of events/socials that are happening later this year. Perhaps one will fit into your travel schedule.

May 23 - 26, 2008 - NSS CDS workshop in Marianna, Florida (2.5 to 3 hours from the Luraville/Ginnie area. It will be a good workshop this year. Go to www.nsscds.com Marianna is home of Jackson Blue, Hole in the Wall, and Twin Caves which are great places to dive if you have not already.

August 11 - 15, 2008 - NSS Convention in Lake City Florida (within an hour of Luraville/Ginnie)

Late October 2008 (maybe the last Saturday) REACT - a customer apprciation day sponsored by Cave Excursions (CE) and Dive Rite at CE in Luraville. See www.caveexcursions.com

November 14, 2008 - The NACD social for NACD members. This was at Ginnie last year and it was a nice - lots of food, refreshments, and socializing. I was able to meet some great people. See www.safecavediving.com

November 15, 2008 - The NACD annnual seminar in Gainesville (45 minutes from Ginnie) This was a nice event the last two years that I went - great speakers, lots of vendors, and many NICE prizes/auctions

In July 2007, this forum had a social at Ginnie. I am not sure if there are plans for one in 2008 though. Maybe they can plan one around your visit.

Good luck with your trip. If I get a chance to meet you, I can bring the Guinness although it taste much better in your neck of the woods.

    Safe diving,

    Sandy Robinson
