I did a dive with David P and John 12-8-04 AM. The plan was to dive to Gauntlet area (1800 ft) and turn the dive or soonerdepending on air consumpson. We were to use pull and glide as much as possible to conserve air and take a nice slow drift back out. Conditions at Telford were very good with clear water and strong but not too strong flow. The set up for this dive went well other than replacing a HP o ring. The water is still covering the land bridge but not by much. We had a very good easy dive of a total run time just over an hour and had good conditions. It was interesting to see the bubble produce silt rings toward the back of the dive and while I kept decent visablity as the middle diver the last diver going in and out had a little less than he desired.
This system kind of spooked me the first time I dove Telford but I really enjoyed this dive. I suspect that we were one of the first one back that far as the rocks were all coated with no white showing( In the back). This was also my first dive in this sytem since I switched to doubles. I really like how it changes every few hundred feet.
The one negative is the amount of trash on the road in and around the woods from the summer and from the flood. I hope to make it to the clean up as this is a really nice place in need of a cleanup.
Tom
