It's now a Cat 5 this evening too... (gads)

I just heard that it downgraded to a category 2 by the time it hit the mainland. Chetumal and Belize took the worst hit with flooding, but not too bad!

Dean was heading directly for Puerto Aventuras - Playa del carmen - Cozumel, then , after hitting Jamaica, moved south and hit Chetumal and Belize with awesome force (winds of uo to 150 knots!).
Luckily for us, Tulum and points north emerged relatively unscathed and cave diving is up and running like most other days down here.
The worst damage was caused by ocean surge, so check out any ocean-front property you may be going to first.

thank you for the information. being from florida we all hate to see anyone hit with a hurricane , especially a cat 5. hope everyone can recover quickly.
