    Default Another scooter on eBay

I just sent the following message to the eBay security people.
    ---------------------------------
I think item 120139489379 is bogus, and the latest in a series of attempts to "sell" items the seller doesn't have. The ad is very similar to the one I reported a couple of weeks ago.

I am pretty sure this is a hijacked account.

This is the 4th item like this in the last few months. Always "new" or "slightly used" underwater scooters by the same manufacturer (Sumerge). He always has a picture of the scooter on part of the factory crate, but if I ask to come look at the item, he disappears, or says it is in a different state.

Ebay should watermark all images uploaded with the ebay ID on it. Thus images can not be stolen from one auction to use in a fraud auction.

Other then that, there is not much they can do but to have users contact them on frauds.

Not to switch topics but I had the similar issue several months ago with ebay sellers hot linking images of new product from my site to sell their used items on ebay. Basically they were stealing my bandwidth. The answer was simple enough. I wrote a code so that if the page requesting an image from my server was ebay it only gave one image no matter what image they were asking for. Needless to say the image that is sent is not of scuba gear and and is rather counter productive to making a sale.

    warning could be slightly offensive

    Back on topic. . .
Has anybody seen ebay remove any of these scooters after a complaint was made? I've personally made several complaints on sellers that offer items with a sightly higher than normal flat shipping cost but offer the item for one cent or something really low. Every single time the cost gets bumped up to the same minimal level right before the bidding ends and its always by bidders with no buying history. Personally I have never seen ebay take action against these scammers.

Ugh. I guess I don't understand gay men. I don't see the appeal. Doesn't ring any heterosexual female bells.

This same guy has an Inspiration rebreather for sale, and it looks just as fishy as the scooter. I may bid high on both of them. If I am wrong, I may get banned from eBay

Well, I just "bought" both the scooter, and the rebreather.

What are the chances that anyone would have a "demo" UV18 for sale on eBay? Anyway, if I am wrong, I can always sell them in the Gear Exchange forum

$3150 for the scooter 4750 for the rebreather.

I got an invoice, it looks like he "stole" an identity. I am going to wait for eBay to answer my complaint.
