Attention concealed carry holders with Florida licenses or reciprocal out-of-state firearm carry licenses honored by Florida....

Governor Jeb Bush has signed a new law into effect that allows us to legally carry concealed firearms (assuming you hold a legal carry permit honored by Florida..) into state park areas that were previously off limits. This will affect many of our most frequented cave diving sites such as Peacock Springs State Park, Manatee Springs State Park, Emerald and Cheryl Sites at Wakulla Springs State Park, etc.

HB 1029 PASSED IN FLORIDA -

H 1029 - Right to Carry Guns in State Parks - was sent to Governor Bush's office on June 5 and was signed by the Governor on June 7.

This law allows concealed carry permit holders to carry concealed firearms in Florida's State Parks by directing the Department of Environmental Protection to amend DEP Rule 62D-2.014(10)F.A.C.

On a similar note, permit holders will soon be able to carry concealed in Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs), effective July 1 due to an administrative rule change by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC).
