Thread: Emerald update

  1. #1

    Default Emerald update

I spoke to Sandy Cook yesterday regarding plans for completing the Emerald project. Bids have been let for grading and spreading limerock for the roadway and parking area. The Park should have a contractor selected within the next thirty days and the work under way.

Once this phase of the improvements are completed, the project will be turned over to us to complete stair and platform construction.

Any estimates on when the contractor should be done with their part?

Based on my conversation with Sandy, I am hopeful that it will be no more than thirty days. Believe me, there is nobody that wants this done any more than myself.

I believe you can do a search for "Emerald" that will give you all the posts related to this project. If you would like specific information, just let me know.

Thanks for the update and effort on this Johnny! Once all necessary site improvements and construction are complete, are there any additional steps (that you know of at this point) that need to be completed (drafting policies and procedures, staffing, etc.) that will need to be addressed by either cave divers or the park, and if so, what is the park's progress and/or plans for any other contingencies that may need to be addressed? Or, if the ball is in our court, so to speak, do we need to do anything further at this point.

Policies and procedures are in place. Once the steps and platform are completed the only thing left to do is dive- finally.
