Emerald 11-16-17
A few of us went into Emerald yesterday. It is clearing. There was not less than 20-25 vis everywhere with a bit of milk, to patches of clear water with wall to wall vis, I would guess 40 foot. Basin was good, I could see the trees on the surface from 40 feet. Without more rain, I would guess it will be clear through the system in a couple of weeks.
There is a lot of percolation and sediments off the ceiling, the line is coated with muck and in the silt in a few places. Someone has installed a raft load of arrows and cookies at the tee to Cheryl, can't figure out why. One of the cables that make up the guard rail system has rusted through at the bottom, and is slack.
I had my BC inflator fail open, it was adding air to the Armadillo constantly. Had to disconnect it. I had started planning the dive with a wet suit, am glad I switched to the dry suit.
