    Default Chainsaws and Eagle's Nest

I left early to get in a couple dives at Eagle's Nest, but almost 1 mile from the site, and 25 minutes into the preserve, we ran across a tree in the road. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me over the years diving there, but this one was too big to drag off.

So off to the nearest Home Depot for a chainsaw. Two hours later we finally made it to the water. The basin was higher than usual, and vis about 40'. The cave was much better, about 70' but not as good as a few weeks ago.

    TJ,

    Thanks for clearing that tree!

My buddy dove it Saturday morning and said they had 70' in the ballroom.

Knowing TJ, he took it back and had them pay for the gas he bought too...

The chainsaw is setting in my garage somewhere under lots of scuba gear we dumped in the garage. I won't return it because it will take days to dig it out.

I'll stop being a smart ass for a few minutes-

I would like to say that the nest was one dive, that i could have not been with any better company. The frags/silt complete darkness-soaks up everybit of light my little 18watt could throw at it. At times i couldnt see any further than my hand, and the up line. After finally making it to the cone. Vis did get better . I for one can defently understand that you need to know where you are and what your depth is at all times. The black-ness in the water soaks up so much of the light, that you no longer have a refrence point to feel off of. Either the squeeze or the BT on your wrist is the only thing you have to check yourself with. The room is so large, that it boogles the mind. Deco here or Ginnie is both as boring. ocasionally some mix ups do to me swapping profiles, and adding time, due to adding a few feet to my depth. But hey, its all good. My plans got me out of the water after TJ's HE was done.. .. conserv because he likes to stress you before you get into the water. and leaves you with an OW's SAC rate to boot.

it was one of the more planning, work envolved, and rewarding dives this year.
It was good meeting-everyone, and yeah i dont recall names Worth a ####.

Thanks (the beast thing- austin powers? i know you have had to watch that, funny as hell, huh? )

today could be the greatest day of my life
