I'm kind of glad they've gotten away from the "conditions have to be absolutely pristine" to be considered diveable mentality.
We dove Orange yesterday afternoon right before it closed and the vis was 30ish.
When should you abandon all caution?

We were in P1 today (Sunday - 02/28.
Viz on the Peanut line was better than on the Main-Line side. (Olsen)
Cross-over tunnel was OK ... (NO dark water pockets in it )
Cavern was OK , but spooky with the tanic water in it.
(Faint yellowish color to the light)
