Default Places to stay in Marianna

Getting ready to leave for Jackson Blue, and I had a few minutes to kill, and this question came across my mind, and so in one long run on sentence I thought I would post it just so I could get some revenge on my high school English teachers.

I know of all the hotels around Marianna, but is there anything close to Marianna like Peacock has like trailers for rent or something like that around that area?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Ther's camping available at Fl Caverns ST Park about 5 miles from Edd's/JB. Edd has worked up a deal for better rates on rooms at the Days Inn and the Executive in town back towards the sheriff's office. Contact Edd at Cave Adventurers, (850) 482-6016/272-2346, for more details.

SeaGhost and I thought we'd do the camping thing at FCSP last month. When we got there, the ranger said it's booked solid every weekend of the year, and that we needed to make reservations several weeks in advance.

We ended up at Arrowhead, and it was really nice. We set up the tents right next to the millpond.

We're doing a day trip this Saturday; hope to see you, Ryan.

Edd told me that at the Days Inn you have to be strong with the guy, and actually quote the rate, in order to get it. You need to say that you are with Cave Adventures, not just that you are a cave diver. Call Ed for the rate or you may end up paying too much for your room (Pretty sure it is under $50 a night).

I looked on the Day's inn website, and the "web" price is $45 per night.

I have found that most hotels actually give a better price to web customers than any other type of discount. It pays to shop around

Yeah - IME - for the cheap N. FL roadside motels (like us cave divers tend to frequent on our weekend excursions... - well where else can you usually back right up to your door, and track sand through the room and trash the bathtub with rinsing it all off your drysuit boots, etc. before you hang it up to dry out ?). For those motels, those little travel guides usually have the best prices (stop at the welcome center on your way into FLA or any rest stop or most gas stations and grab one.) You usually have to couple the cupon they have with some negotiating, as they will want to give you a second floor room or whatever their least likely room to rent at a higher price is..

Herbie made our reservations when we camped there a few weeks back, so I'm not for sure how far in advance he made them but the idea came up a week ahead of time. The ranger said that you do need to book them through Camp Grounds America, there is a link from the caverns web site.

Where exactly is Arrowhead? Can you fill me in on the details please as it sounds like perhaps a nice alternate spot to camp. Thanks

Arrowhead is on US 90, where it runs along the millpond. This link may work:

They get $21 per night for a campsite, plus $2 if you want cable (TV), plus tax. There's only one bathhouse, but it's nice. If you are tent camping, you can set up literally right next to the millpond.

OK if you really want to save some cash just beg a cell at the correctional facility located real close to the sherrifs office, the downtown Marianna metropolis, and the mill pond, I just love an integrated city, BTW you get free meals and cable tv AND SMOKES FOR FREE , and cool uniforms to boot, just leave your gear in the truck they got visitor parking behind the gates, IT WILL BE FINE THERE, they got a guy watching all the time. Here's a link to get a room mate/reservation.....
