    Default Little River rising

Did 2 dives today at Little River but based on the conditions I expect that there will be no diving for the next few weeks.

When I first arrived today at 1230, the water was over the cement sidewalks and up to the first step. I followed another teams line into the cave while laying my own line as well with both of us tying off at the steps. It was a braille dive until one reached the cavern zone. Once in the cave the conditions were good with minimal flow and 50'+ visibility.

After completing the first dive and eating lunch, I did a second dive. The water had risen just up to the first platform when I went in at 1530. The river water was ~ 65 F and the no visibility zone was now extended down to the Grim Reaper sign. Once again the cave itself was splendid! I exited around 1645 and took the following pictures at 1700. Obviously the water is continuing to rise. The river water is also dirty looking.

Be very careful dining LR when the river is rising rapidly, like now. It could reverse while you are in there, and that would be bad!

Anyone been out here lately? Looks like it's dropping, but very slowly: http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydro...tae&gage=bfdf1

I will look this weekend, but I suspect it is still blown out.

Thanks. Figured it probably wasn't diveable yet but wanted to keep my options open since I'll be around the Amigo's party this weekend.

LR flooded between 16-17'. River is still at 21'...got some ways to go...once the river cork is popped...she might be raging

You are right the outflow will be strong with brown/tannic water. Little River used to flush out fast and clear quickly, but it doesn't seem to do that anymore.
