Dang, looks like all the good stuff went fast, guess that is what I get for spending the afternoon watching college football. What school is your wife going to be attending, UIC or UC? Earned my PhD at UC, awesome town but was happy to leave (miserable winters there.) Best of luck to the both of you. There is some awesome wreck diving up that way you know.

She's going to UIC. I'm not looking forward to chicago too much. We've never lived anywhere that got below freezing nor have we ever lived in a big city. I can't wait for her to finish medical school so we can buy a hundred acres in central Florida to live on, and have some cattle for fresh steak whenever I want it. Hell maybe I'll even find some land with a sinkhole on it to dive. For now its ramen noodles and whatever else the cockroaches don't get in a tiny apartment.

I lived in Chitcago (note spelling) for 13 years.

If you want to work, its a great place. You won't starve.

If you want to not freeze or broil, its not so great. Too damn hot in the summer and freezing in the winter.

I would never move back. Not for love or money.

There is decent diving in the lake through..... a drysuit is REQUIRED.
