December 8th, 9th, 15th & 16th

Morgan Springs Exploration 1
December 8th
Setup dives to EOL and surveying
we will be installing 10 trimix stages out to the EOL (EOL is at 10,000ft, this is a siphon after 800ft)
depths are 220ft
Setup dives for Deco Stages
multiple Deco stages will need to be installed; 32%, 50% and O2
so there will be a lot of stages and scooters going up and down all those stairs.

December 9th
Setup dives to EOL and surveying

December 15th
Setup dives for Deco Stages
multiple Deco stages will need to be installed; 32%, 50% and O2
Push Dive starts at 9am.
Tentative dive plan is a 4 hour bottom time with a 6 hour decompression schedule.
We will need multiple support divers to assist the exploration divers.

Cleanup dives
All Trimix and Deco Stages will be removed, approximately 20 or more stages as well as 6 or more scooters

I once heard a story from a certain cave diver that went something like "We used a Sharpie to put a mark on the back of them sommbich crawdads in Thunderhole, and then we found 'em a few weeks later in Morgan!"

well it does not go to Adams Spring, well not anymore. The passage that was headed in that direction comes to an end just beyond the Stroker Room. the tunnel makes a hard turn to the south and is headed straight to Corbetts Spring / Chaplin Spring / The Cracks.

due to a flooded dry suit on the last push dive about 5k' to the EOL has not been surveyed, I have 5k' prepared for Decembers push dive.

the additional 5k' should put the cave back at the river, and close to 3 above springs.

Are you trying to be funny? The river is up at least 20 feet at Morgan. I went by there just before the flood, and the viz in the sink was lousy. The landowner said that it had been that way for a long time. I asked at Cave Excursions, and they said nobody had logged in to go there in over a year. I highly suspect Billy's exploration in December was canceled.

Nope, not funny, just curious. I saw these posts back in November, it seemed like a cool project, and I didn't hear anything else about it one way or another, hence the question.

I haven't been to morgan in years, and I have no clue what the river was like in December, or if the exploration took off, or if it was rescheduled.

Just saw this thread....very cool that the exploration is going on.......
Having dove many of the potential connections.......Morgan, T-Hole, Chaplain, & Corbett.....would be great to see it all hooked up.
Keep it up , BF and team...nice to know that there are some explorers out there.....

Not true. James Toland and I dove it Dec 1st 2012. We logged in at CE. While viz was not great, it was certainly diveable. We spent our time looking in the very front of the cave for any missed leads. Almost every time I'm there the basin looks like complete crap, but it can be anywhere from diveable to very nice viz.
