    Default Bonnet Spring Current Conditions

As of Monday, 08/29/2005, the current conditions at Bonnet Spring are as follows:

    The spring basin is clear.

    The outflow is moderate.

The visibility averages 25' to 30'.

Don't count on penetrating much further than the 4-way split(p1900'), unless you have a good breathing rate or carry a stage bottle to the Z-restriction.

(Note: I attempted to post this in the "Cave Conditions" section, but received a frontpage error message)

Thanks for the cave conditions submission for Bonnet. I got it and I updated the information. Maybe one of the administrators (Marbry or TJ) can fix the Front Page error? This is the first cave conditions report that I have gotten in a little over two weeks.

You could always post the conditions at http://www.tampaboating.com/sections...ystem.asp?ID=9

Jim Wyatt added one for yesterday but yours has a ton of nice description.

    Janet:

Thanks for making me aware of that. We've dived there in the past with a stage bottle and weren't aware there is a "no stage bottles allowed" policy. We've always dropped them prior to reaching the Z-restriction.

    Sid:

Bonnet Spring may be shallow, but it's slow going in many places, unless you don't mind plowing through the silt and kicking it into high gear.

The outflow was noticable enough to slow us down. It took us 49 minutes to reach the 4-way split.

My S.A.C. is between .80 and 1.00, depending on the diving conditions.

Very shallow (some places scary shallow) I've done end of the line and exited on 1/3 of 104s. Makes you think what you could do in Mexico with 104s.
