bill, we were in madison before the weekend and i posted this in another thread concerning the conditions there, hope it helps:
we dove cow, little river, madison, and telford this past wednesday (18th) and thursday (19th). lots of duck weed in cow, limited flow meaning the ski rope isn't needed, and great viz. little river was also low flow and great viz, we made it easily to the dome room moving at a snails pace with bm 108's.
madison has about 25 ft of viz, silt covers everything, and lots of percolation. we went about 1400 to 1600 up the mainline, passing the jump for potters and rocky horror. the first 500 feet is the worst for silt, but it gets better the further you swim. the ranger said we were the first people in three weeks to do a full dive, everyone else has been saying how bad the viz was. seems like it may be improving?
telford is still blown out. about 15 feet of viz and lots of silt and percolation. not worth the swim/scooter/crawl up the river.
pat and i were the only people at any of those sites, which was awsome. we stayed at cathy's, and had dinner in live oak, at the new sushi place in the publics plaza. not the best sushi, but the prices are reasonable and they are open late.
thanks dude
that helps
I was just wondering what direction maddison/river levels were going
getting better or worse
Paul and Mel dove Morgan today. According to Paul H. Vis was 30-40 feet.
Hope this helps

thanks tony
being from PA I log 30-40 as unlimited
I was in Madison 3 weekends ago finishing a class, Martz traverse and the Godzilla Circuit. Others whom had been there many times commented that this was the worst they had seen the silt in about 5 years. Mounds of silt, covering stakes and line. Vis wasn't all that bad, 25, maybe a bit more. We moved very slowly, very deliberate, and the perc was managable. But it wasn't the "pretty white cave" I had been told to expect. Go slow, be careful.
