    Default Kleinenbremen

I had the chance to dive this old flooded mine in Kleinenbremen, Germany

Parts of it can be visited by tourists and once a month a group of divers is allowed to take a plunge.

The first part of the waterfilled section can be dived by advanced OW divers, the second part is full cave and a max of two teams is alllowed to enter.

To get to the dive site you take a small train for half a mile, then use a "Tekkel" to take the equipment one floor down and carry it down to the second floor afterwards.
From there it´s only 500ft to the entrance area...

The viz was very good and we saw a couple of relics on our way.

No real cave, but an interesting trip anywayAttachment 5197

Interesting pics. Thanks for the post.

I am curious, if it is only dove once a month, I would assume one would have to make an application in advance?

Thanks. Very interesting. Is this ~ 11 C water temps?

When you're there you know there's a There there.

Were were planning to dive Willigen Germany mine at Christmas but are now doing it next summer. This would be excellent to add to the trip. who is the contact etc for getting entrance to the Kleinbreheman mine. Is there a shop near by to rent tanks?

Jeff is right, you have to make reservations.

I asked Trevor who is responsible and he told me that everything is booked for 2012 and no schedule set up for 2013 allthough there is a list of interested divers.

contact Trevor @: www.trevpunkt@t-online.de He rents equipment too.

Temps are 9°C air and 8°C water

Cool dive Tom. Did you go down the rabbit hole in photo#11?

sorry I first thought it would be a website, hence the www, but it´s only an email-address. Just try: trevpunkt@t-online.de

and yes, we´ve been through that hole, it´s a so called "Rollbunker". Through this hole the iron ore slipped down to the small mine cars and was transported 3 mls west to the outside

On this picture you can see how it looked from below.

The second pic shows how it must have looked when still in use, but the tunnel was partly filled by debris.

But you can´t compare it to the rabbit hole in Madison. It´s bigger, but it takes two weeks for the silt to settle again. One more reason for the limited access.
