I'm glad to see the CDS making a move forward in an attempt to protect and conserve more caves.

Is there more information on how much of my fare actually goes to the fund and how much Carnival is matching?

Is the LAF earmarked strictly for obtaining new property or is there plan for it's use to maintain current holdings?

Just a few questions... prior to my purchase of a ticket...

    Tegg,

There will be a link on the cruise information site that shows generation and disbursement of funds.

In the mean time, I can tell you that the Section is generating funds in three ways with this event.

#1 Matching funds from Carnival Cruise Lines. A $35.00 fee is included in the ticket price for each person and Carnival is matching that amount which amounts to $70.00 per person paid to the NSS-CDS
#2 For every 15 cabins booked Carnival is giving the Section 1 cabin free. The ticket price for those cabins, less taxes and port fees, will go to the NSS-CDS.
#3 The NSS-CDS is looking for 200 people to donate $50.00 to the land acquisition fund. Each one of those donators will receive a ticket, the CDS will draw a ticket prior to the sailing and the lucky person will receive a inside cabin for two on the cruise. If that person has already purchase their cruise, the value of an inside cabin will be reimburse to them.
You will have a 1-in-200 chance of receiving a complimentary inside stateroom with each $50.00 donation.

The Section is looking for at least 30 cabins to be sold but we have 50 on hold. During the workshop we received commitments for 15 cabins (half way there).

This event has the possibility of generating over $15k if all 200 donations are received and 30 cabins sold.
Is the LAF earmarked strictly for obtaining new property or is there plan for it's use to maintain current holdings?
The perimeters of the fund have not yet fully been established by the BOD, beyond land acquisition.
