Anyone bought a 77 Worthington?

I saw these and wondered if anyone had tried to sidemount them and if so did they go or blow?

Can't beat the price and I've all but given up on finding a used set of the LP 85 or HP 100.
No can do the annointed PST104's with my back, and SM with a 95 did not feel much difference than the 104's.

Those cold spray galvanized tanks not good, they scratch and get flash rust badly on the outside. XS Scuba was really pushing hard to get theses tanks on the market a few years ago, I know several shops that bought them for pool tanks, and they rust in the pool. I guess if you do not mind ugly tanks that require a lot of maintenance, then they would be fine.
They were designed to be a cheap steel tank, and that is what you get. I would stick with painted or hot dipped galvanized.

I don't own any but I have side mounted with them with no issues. The buoyancy characteristics were fine for me. But like I said, I don't now how they would hold up in the long run.

Sounds like you get what you pay for. I generally keep something forever, so these sound like a bad idea.

What 95s did you try Pressed steel?

Roger, the 95 PST's seem to me be a push as far as weight in the water, just shorter. I had some Coyne's one time but sold them because they were so bottom heavy.
I just don't care about long dives and if I need more gas I can tag an aluminum 80 along with really no weight difference.
Hey Roger, you want your 104's back? I think one still has RAL on it. They have served me well. I have considered keeping them for OW. I can easily do a two tank dive on one 104 with a cave fill.

Thanks but no thanks Charlie. I am a bit older now and they are likely heavier than when I sold them. If you want to dive a set of 85s holler when you are coming to Marianna and you can borrow mine to see if you like them.

I own a set of worthington 120's. No problems at all. They look better than my PST's. And a ton better than my LP95's. Maybe they changed how they galvanized them, I don't know, but I've had mine 3 years with no issues at all (07/08 original hydro). But really the LP85's are my ideal sidemount tanks. The 120's are just too dang long for my short body.

Hold on and be patient. They do show up on the Gear Exhange. You can also do the WTB thing.
