Local Legend Opens for True Grit

Dozing alone in my comfy seat this afternoon at the local cinemaplex waiting for True Grit to start, I was jolted awake by the huge screen image of High Springs and international film legend Jill Heinerth in a Honda advertisement, complete with spectacular video of the Devil's Ear entrance and diver swimming in the tannic Santa Fe river water! What's next? I'm guessing Honda DPVs. Incidentally, don't miss True Grit -- it is fantastic!

Last week I saw a line on the home menu of my Tivo that generally contains some advertisement that read "A diver recalls drowning" or something like that. For the first time ever, I clicked on that line. Sure enough, it was Jill and the rest of the Honda crew.

Though not a van [I sit back and dream for a moment...], I find the Honda Ridgeline an excellent dive vehicle. Though Honda's "Stealth Marketing Campaign" (read: almost non-existent) for the Ridgeline makes the vehicle virtually unknown.

I'll be seeing True Grit tonight or tomorrow, I hope the commercial's not regional and shows here in Colorado Springs!
