Tomorrow will mark the 4th year since Steve Berman's passing. Please take a moment and pay your respects in your own way to a man who gave a lot to cave diving and asked for nothing in return. /K

Thanks Ken for posting in memory of Steve Berman. People say they remember where they were when the twin towers were struck,I will always remember where I was standing when I got the news about Steve, and so will many more. A true friend to cave diving that will always be missed.Originally Posted by Ken Hill
I'm newbie to cavediving but i always read the titles on his map and remember that there was a person who died to make it for me. If it would be in my mountains country such man would have his plate on granite. Something people might think of.
In Ginnie a pile of stones in the "White Room" off the bone line and "Steve's Cathedral" a room back past the Hinkle are dedicated sites to the man.Originally Posted by ARY
There used to be one of his arrows at the 90 degree turn on the Bone Room line. I used to joke, "Take a left turn at Steve." Then after he died, the next time I took that line I noticed there was just a plain white arrow there. Someone had made a swap and gained a souvenir.
Last December we were going through the Keyhole and I suddenly remembered that there had been a Steve arrow in the Keyhole Bypass. Upon exit I had my buddy wait on the line while I scooted over to the bypass, and sure enough, Steve's arrow was still there. Was I tempted to take it?
No way.

It's a humbling experience when going into the White Room.
If I remember correctly, an arrow with STEVE on it is at the 90 degree turn.
Double the the Tanks, Double the run, Add a stage for more fun..... Keep on Diving.
I can put a nice marker in the pile of stones in the white room with Steve's name and dates, but I want to get some input first. Some people might be offended. Let me know.

There is already a marker made of gray PVC, but I’m not apposed to a different more permanent style.Originally Posted by John L.

There are too many people to remember to put plaques in every room in Ginnie. It's been 4 years and no one has forgotten Steve yet.Originally Posted by John L.
How about something nice for his wife or something on land?
