    Default DVD conversion

I put this here, since it is directly related to cave diving. I have a nice DVD of cavediving in Australia. The catch is, it has the wrong region code, not to mention it is probably PAL.

I see ways on the internet to fix the region code issue, but what about the PAL issue?

Does anyone want to try converting this to a DVD that will play in the US?

    DVD Decrypter:

    DVD Shrink:

I think those two should do everything you need, but I haven't had to do what you're doing. I have however used these software solutions for other things and seen options that I think will help ya. Hopefully someone else has a complete answer, but I thought I'd share what I could

I can see how those programs would help you backup copy guarded DVDs, but how do they convert PAL to NTSC?

Use a software package called VideoLAN:

    http://www.videolan.org/vlc

The software is free and amazing. I just bought a Spanish cave diving DVD which was PAL, and it plays fine. The only downside is that I can only watch it on my computer, but if I owned a TV then I could always buy a Computer to TV cable to watch it on a bigger screen.

This software will also take care of the region code as well.

    Cheers,
    -Jon

i've been out of the scene for a while but i dont think any of these will help you convert that dvd.

    try videohelp: http://www.videohelp.com/guides/cate...nversions-4;41

of course the better option is to get a dvd player that plays both :P

I agree, but my goal is to make a DVD that will play in any DVD player, or computer.
