Last week i was frustrated by trying to identify some cave critters while in Florida. The information on the net is somewhat hard to find and very rarely specific to underwater cave life.
So i decided that an stygobitic aggregation web site would be just the ticket....and the fact that we were snowed/iced in from the second we got home gave me plenty of time over the weekend to get it coded up.
The site is www.StygoBites.com
(you can also get there at www.stygobite.com and www.stygofauna.com)
The registration and forms are working, please don't try testing for sql injections as i don't have the regex tuned yet. (don't try and hack the site yet please)
I'd like to develop the site to be a good tool for uploading or tracking biological inventories for underwater cave life.
I plan on setting up file uploads so folks taking inventories in the field can upload and share their data easily when they're finally hooked to the net.
If any science minded folks need additional fields added to use it for their work please let me know.
Feel free to register and add stygobites, links to images, videos and sightings reports.
Please let me know if you find the aggregation of this data worthwhile and would actually use the site.
Thanks
oh great, the title cannot be edited to add the "t" to the url to make it stygobites.com...
