    Default Madison Blue -Courtyard dive

The thread on Madison blue got me thinking.I havent dove there in quite a few years & some friends and I over the summer tried to dive it once but the basin looked too bad so we decided to head back to Peacock.I need my memory refreshed.I always wanted to do the courtyard dive but never got around to doing it it.Is it the potters delight jump and it turns into rocky horror or is it another jump .Been awhile since I have seen a good map of it & none with the courtyad dive onit. Also can you do it on DBLS and a single stage or do you need to run a double stage to reach it?

Basically you are right-Potter's delight, which becomes Rocky Horror, and then into the Courtyard. I've done the dive on a set of doubles, but a stage as a safety is not a bad idea due to the slow pace through Rocky Horror. You don't want to encounter another team coming the opposite direction of you through Rocky Horror;you'd hope them seeing your jump line from mainline to Potter's Delight would be enough indication that somebody is in the tunnel, but that hasn't always proven true-so in the past I used to put a slate at the beginning of Rocky Horror telling divers that somebody is here and the tunnel only supports one team at a time.

It is good to hear from you again, you still make me shiver when I remember seeing you in that shorty. Send me a PM when you and the North Carolina coalition decide to head south because I rarely see anybody anymore (I think cave diving got in the way of happy hour

Hehe...will do Kelly. I have actually graduated to just wearing a bathing suit & a Tshirt now(to keep the harness straps from rubbing) though, lol

The jump from the main line is at about 1350' penetration. It's then about 350' to the Potter's Delight opening. If you use a 32% mix, the decompression obligation after the dive is only a few minutes. It's definitely a stage dive, even with a scooter, if you want to get more than just beyond the dropoff into The CourtYard.

Greg!! How ya doing??? I was wondering about you just a few weeks ago. I was in an IM with Van and asked what you were up to....glad you've rediscovered the sport.

This is Lori from Cincinnati, I was a semi-regular before happy hour cut in and all. I still make it down tho with the "professor".

You and I did Dan O2 together with Van a ways back....as I recall it was hilarious.

Kelly....that's one Greg uncovered....now where's the other one???
