    Default Crypt

Dove Peacock I to The Crypt on 06/18/2010.

We took the jump from the Olsen line, over to the Cisteen line, and then to the Crypt.

Dropped the stage bottle at the jump to the Cisteen line.

Another reel was in place at the jump from the Olsen line to Cisteen, but wasnt there when we returned. I'm guessing they did the Cisteen Circuit??

Anyway, visibility was good going in. However, once we got on the Cisteen line, viz varied, and dropped significantly. Some areas were less than 5'.

Once we made it into the Crypt, the visibility increased significantly.

Oh.... anyone know how deep that line goes in the Crypt? I was on a rich mix, so I didnt go any deeper than 80', but it looked like it kept going.

That Crypt is one scary place. I dove it once with Mark Fyvie and we got rained with pretty large rocks that were seemingly displaced by just our gas. It freaked us out and we got the hell out of there. I've never been back.

Same thing happened to me. The line goes down then stops. There is a small gap then another line. Someone is trying to tell you something there.

I will not ever go back there myself...

I agree! My bubbles started an "avalanche" there. I don't plan to go back.

I just asked Sam for the car keys and waved good bye

I won't ever go in there in the first place

Here is the link to the video when Sam and I went - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6xjlkVvWrw

I believe the start of the line that you're all referring to is shown at timestamp 5:35

    Cheers,
    Jeff

We did have some low visibility conditions in the small tube that leads to the beginning of the crypt. But we didn't encounter alot of percolation once we were in the room. I guess we owe you guys a thanks!

Now the line is "T'd" in with the main line that runs to the back of the room, and to the little skeleton back there. But the line drops out of sight. The survey shows the depth of the floor at 75'. From where I could see, the line went deeper than 90'... and kept going. (It may be side-mount as well??)

The line I am talking about is where it hits the survey marker and drops straight down. My dive log says max depth 93'. Once at the bottom of that line it gets real ugly, FAST. For the small amount of time I had vis... it looked to get very low. I only stayed on the line 40-50 feet once it hit the bottom and leveled out. I turned and "ok'ed" my way out...

The room in the crypt is nice tho. the line ends in the back of the room lots of breakdown

The dive is worth it to me just for the tube like tunnel...

There were several people (don't remember who, but the usual suspects pushing new leads back then....Woody, Wes, Morris, etc come to mind...) who started exploring the deeper section below the Crypt, back in the early 80's, I believe the line there is thiers...it was trending towards Deep OG, btw...but then there was a flood, and after they went back, the line was buried in a large collapse area......spooked them enough that I don't think they pushed it any more.
