    Default Peacock Conditions?

Well is there any change? Has the river gone down any at all? Are they still getting rain in Ga.? I haven't heard anything in a while so I thought I should check. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will be open soon.

The river dropped a lot, but seems to have leveled off. It is still several feet above the slough at Peacock, so it will be at least a couple of months before things get back to normal. Probably over a month before they will even think about opening it back up.

The Suwanee at Luraville has been steady at 31 feet for a while. It dropped down to just over 30 feet this past week. And then we got hammered with a lot of rain the past couple of days. It will probably rise another 1/2 foot. Flood level there for Peacock is 26 feet. I'm going to guess Forrest is being a little optimistic in his prediction...

So what I'm hearing is "head to Marianna" if I was planning a trip the end of March/first of April. Is that a safe bet?

Was at Peacock yesterday collecting water samples. There is a strong boil at P1 but the discharge is pretty tannic and the water chemistry suggests there is still decent amount of river water to come out. Challenge is beginning to look a bit nicer than it has been but Orange Grove is pretty black...
