    Default dive rite 21w hid

While i love the way this thing lights up the cave it seems that the goodman handle attachment to the light is not so good in that it is just two screws with not much thread due to the width of the adjustable focus slider. So, given the weight of the light head, this is a failure point. Has anyone got a fix for this?? Thanks. Bill

Thanks, that's been done, the connection is solid but i don't think it will last as there is to much stress at the point where the screws attach and the attachment point is round and the handle plate flat.

    Default reflector assembly

Dive Rite's reflector assemblies have a more secure connection now to the handmount. Also new is the small goodman handmount which is very comfy for you non-glove wearers(or thin gloves). A large goodman is also available, as well as a S/S handmount open on one end which you bend to fit your hand (Ergo). All are now mounted using the new, I guess you could say mounting plate which is much more secure and more adaptable to connect to other things, such as video equipment.

To make my post complete, I will also say that there is the ole elastic strap available (like most use with their 10W heads) -But- I have found that it does not offer enough support for the heavier light head (mine wanted to tip when scootering) but for swim dives it wasn't so bad. I have liked the small goodman much better because the beam stays where you want it.

Is it clear? No? Well....let's go anyways.

Default update on dive rite 21w hid

Just got back from a trip to cave country, stopped by dive rite in lake city on my way to the new sink hole and they warranteed the fix on the goodman handle connection to the light focus tube. I had one of the first production runs. The new connection appears bullet proof. Had the light in Ginnie for about five dives and it sure lights up that cave with a brilliant blue. What a fine light! Bill

I have to echo Bill's thoughts, just got my 21W reflector back from Dive Rite with the "thinner" Goodman handle installed and the delrin block holding it together....the connection seems very secure now and I couldn't be happier

    Safe diving,
