Default How much should I sell my backmount tanks for?

I have a set of PST 130's with Highland bands and Halcyon valves and manifold. I bought them new in the Summer 2004. They have not been hydro'd. I started sidemount 2 years ago and haven't used them since. I held on to them thinking I'd use them, but I haven't. Thanks.

I haven't seen very many tanks sell that are not in current hydro. It's too much hassle to buy them and then get that done first thing. Once that's done, I see doubles sell for anywhere between $400 and $600 depending on condition. YMMV.
There are others here that are more knowledgeable than I, though.

Well, I don't know what the actual fair value is, but i'm guessing around $250. With that said, I'll give you $250 for them.

The other problem I see with trying to sell them out of hydro, is whatif they were not to pass? Then there is a waist of money and a unhappy buyer.

I say get them hydrod and then they should be worth about $600.00 plus shipping. A set of 95's normally go for closer to $400 or $450.

I have seen many sets of used 130's for the 600 mark and know of many that have failed hydro so better get that done first.

Maybe sell $250.00 for each tank then cost of manifold, then bands so $600.00

Well, hydro + o2 clean + assymbly/disassybly + VIS will run about $250ish for a set of doubles at one shop I frequent, so take Slim's 600-250 = $350 ish, and then there is always the "what if they fail?"

    with that being said,
you should just give them away and not worry about if they fail hydro and I would be more than happy to take them off your hands if you want.

Larry, get them hydro'd and start at $650. Leverage the N Florida pony express to get them anywhere from the Panhandle, High Springs, Athens, S. Florida or maybe even NC.
More and more its harder to get a good fill..., so 130's are having value over 104's if you live outside of cave country.

And send the "hydro + o2 clean + assymbly/disassybly + VIS will run about $250ish for a set of doubles at one shop I frequent" back over to ScubaBoard... We're a little more self sufficient around here, and opt againts the a$$ raping...

I never said I would pay that much for that, I have just seen places charge all that.

When selling, you wanna quote on the higher end to bring the final price up.

FWIW I just sold a set of PST E 119s banded with a manifold that had 4 years left til hydro for $450 + shippping. I started at $600 but eventually dropped to $450 + shipping after nobody would bite. I would definitely get them hydro'd first though.

If your profile is correct and you are in Houston. I am good for $400 if you get them hydro'd or maybe $300 if I check them out and have get them hydro'd myself.

I really don't need a set of 130s but I know a few guys that like them for spearfishing and I can break the set down and use them on the boat.

    2 E8-130s retail $800
    Halcyon manifold 279
    Highland bands 160

    total 1,239

Used gear generally sells for half of retail. I see stuff like this go in the neighborhood of $600-650 all the time.
