Yes, Culpepper Landing, depends on how bad you suck at canoeing/kayaking(takes me 20 min and I suck at paddling - its about a mile upstream from the launch).
Is it worth it?? Anything to see?? What do you do with your boat once you get there, I am assuming you don't tie up to adjacent land?(Anchor or tree??)
Any idea of conditions there now?
Thanks!
Depends on your expectations, I beach the boat on the little sand beach thats within the floodzone or tie it off to a tree. Conditions would be fine there right now, the creek has to be crazy high before it blows out since it pushes so much water.
Probably the prettiest OW basin(smallish though - bigger than Ginnie's basin but far more interesting, smaller than Vortex but far more natural) in Florida, nice little cavern, nearly non-existant/tight cave. I go there a few times a year and enjoy it.

Cool thanks for the info and the picture.
We are going to give it a try on Saturday, and a quick jaunt at Vortex.
Its just as colorfull underwater too with eelgrass, water lettuce, some red plants(??), etc. Usually alot of fish as well as the spring isn't dived much.
Oh Nos! There's giant banana spiders at Cypress!
For some strange & unknown reason, the state of Florida allowed a water bottling company to buy this pristine site from Harold Vickers instead of the state purchasing it. Oh, but let's make sure we keep divers out of Sally Ward.
I have boycotted bottled spring water for decades. Okay, I realize that my boycott has absolutley no impact on the bottled spring water industry, I know this. BUT it does permit me britchn rights and makes it easier to look at myself in the mirror knowing I am not lining their pockets to buy up the next spring somewhere. I believe that my logic on this one is inescapable.
Who would have ever thought that bottled water from a spring would cost more than gasoline?
