I keep one of these as a backup in case my nice skinny one acts up on me, or as a loaner. They work just fine. The battery can be bought at a local supplier as it is a common part number for home security systems. I got my last one for about $30.
When I dove singles I would just strap this big boy upside down to the tank using the same cam band holding the tank.
I used to sell those batteries to N. FLorida peeps by the truckload. My father-in-law was (is) the largest commercial alarm contractor in the nation. I used to pay $7 bucks for those batteries. I wonder what they cost now. I'll call him and ask.
