    Default Ginnie 64 degrees?

I did the midnight dive on Newyears eav,and was quite warm diving wet. When I looked at the log on my Nitekplus it read 64 degrees.Anybody else get a colder temp on the dive or is my plus wrong.

Hey Randy - I have always seen 71-72 in the Devil's system on my computers, no matter what time of year.

It's bad luck to be superstitious.

My midnight dive specs (clock struck midnight when I was crossing the 1000ft arrow on Hill 400)-
    In: 12/31/08 - 11:46pm
    Out: 1/1/09 - 1:38am
    Temp: 71deg

I was hot enough that I had to let air out of my suit during deco, Ed @ Cave Adventurers did an awesome job of helping me get the drysuit undergarment right for me

I thought as much.I dont mind the temp not being accurate, its the other data that might matter.I usually wear a backup, but it was the cavern so I didnt bother.I didnt participate in the social. We were there camping and the wife didnt think the small crowd was too inviting. We had our own food and drink.Maybe some music would give these get togethers a little more of a festive atmosphere.Shes also a non diver. Its all her fault.Nice dive though.

As wonderful and accurate as modern dive computers are, the temperature readouts are notoriously inaccurate. Also, some of them give you the "lowest temperature of the dive." Since it was in the fifties outside, it could have affected your readout at the beginning of the dive.

No way. Ten people will have eleven different opinions on what to listen to. For example, I would sooner jam a rusted wire coathanger in my ear than listen to country music. And I'm sure many of you feel the same way about big band/swing.

I've seen these suspect low temps on my HE before and figured it was a case of the contact(s) getting wet while having wind blow across it (while getting into the water and before fully submerging) and thus the bogus reading...
