    Default Peacock - 06/01/2008

    YAY!!!
Hit the home cave on Sunday morning. Did the Grand Traverse from OG to P1. OG was busy with a couple of team ahead of us , but once we turned from the Distance Tunnel to Challenge , we pretty much had things to ourselves. OG to Challenge looked really nice. From Challenge to Olsen , still some tanic in the water. LOTS of poofie on the floor and on the walls. (we stayed up high to avoid any poofie-ness )
Vis was about 15-30 feet from Challenge to Olsen. But we were able to see the Peanut Line and the jump to the Crypt quite easily.
Ditto on the vis from Olsen to P1. Lots of leaves on the floor around the sinks and lots of poofie silt too. But again , we were able to see the Cross-over , Cisteen and Nicholson lines from the gold line.
The P1 cavern itself was nice but the basin was quite brown but it was manageable fer sure !!

All in all , it was WONDERFUL to see Peacock again. YAY !!!!!

Again , I would say the viz from Olsen to P1 was about 20-30 feet. It did vary in spots though. But I could make out the Dark Water Tunnel from the main line quite easily.

    Thanks!
    Jean

P.S. The Gold line was visible the whole dive. At least I don't remember any places where it was buried in the poof. Just an FYI.

Thanks for the report Jean. I intend to head there in the end of June/early July when I get back to Orlando!

The basin is "Yucky" a brail dive until you get to the cavern, then things cleared up. Vis in the system is 50-60 feet. Still low flow and gets silted up in places.

    Default line conditions for Peanut

Line conditions in Peanut are getting kind of bad in two places where it is "scraping" against the rock. The outer sheath is gone in two spots and only "inner" lines keeping the line together. I didn't count how many inner lines are still functioning.
