    Default A sticky subject...

I'm putting a new neck seal on my brand new DUI suit because I was stupid and cut the original one too big so I get a little leakage around the back of my neck... DUI was really cool and sent me a new seal at no charge, but I'm trying to figure out what glue is best to use.. i've got access to some Trident neoprene cement... is this good enough?

    Default neck seal

    ck NRS.com or NOC.com, also outdoorplay.com

I think NOC has the stuff you are looking for-! IE: neck & wrist seal repair kits & glue-! Go slow though, you don't want to mess it up-!

Default I checked it out...and another questions

I checked out NOC.com and found the latex seals repair kits.... it seems that they are just using aquaseal.... but the kits include the seal, I believe, and I don't need a seal, an adhesive... could I just do it with aquaseal? any better suggestions? How about online directions?

You want some seam tape to go along with it - the idea is to put that over the "end" of the seal so you don't fray it back over time.

The trick to replacing seals is to use a mandrel that fits in the opening so that the seal doesn't wrinkle and the area is taut when you put it on. This is pretty easy to arrange with wrist seals, but can be a bit tougher to find an appropriate item to use as a mandrel for the neck opening.

If you use Aquaseal, get some Cotol and use that to clean the surfaces first to enhance the bond.

There is a web page out there with detailed pictures and procedure, but I can't find it in my favorites list.... will post back if I do.

Just call Steve Gamble. www.gamblescuba.com. Ask him what to use. Or call DUI. Either way will work.

Default DUI has the glue and neck rings

Call DUI they have the glue and neck rings that make this job easy. They even have written instructions.

they use aquaseal and cottol 50/50, clean with cottol the surface first, or you can make it easy and send it to gamble or DUI (last one only if you have long time with no need of going diving)..

    have fun

    Default which aquaseal?

Aquaseal makes several different products... are you talking about just good old aquaseaq in a tube? The white/clear booger looking paste, or about another one of their products... I would imagine it is hard to spread that stuff around evenly.... wouldn't something thinner with a brush be more ideal... i know i'm making a huge deal out of this, I just don't want to screw up my suit.

I think you want the aquaseal in the yellow tube, and not the white. The yellow or sometimes orange tube/can is much thinner. If you get the small can there is a brush on the lid. As for something to put this on so its easier to glue, try a bleech bottle or laundry det. bottle. Something big. Hope some of this helps.

My buddy has replaced numerous neckseals and wristseals on DUI suits....he even taught the owner of the shop we work with how to do it and the shop is a DUI dealer.

He uses DUI glue and DUI's instructions....goes slow....and measures carefully. Be sure to get the plastic neck template too...makes it alot easier.
