Default Andy Wight died in a helicopter crash.

Andy Wight died in a helicopter crash yesterday. He was a cavediver, and film maker. He is best known for Sanctum, but also did Nullarbor Dreaming with Wes Skiles back in the '80s.

I met Andy when I was in Australia in 2010, he was a nice guy, and will be missed.

I was watching Sanctum as I fell asleep last night.

As Mike said, my condolences go out to his loved ones.

Oh, gosh. That's a darned shame.

Land of Enchantment -- not so great for cave diving, but mighty scenic!

Some of us got to meet and speak with Andy when he came here last year for the special screening of Sanctum in Gainesville and what a wonderfully nice, talented guy he was.
In addition to Andy, also lost in the chopper crash was US underwater director of photography/cameraman Mike deGruy.
