    Cool WTB: scooter

Looking for a mako or SS in good condition, with charger. Will be in cave country from Dec27th for +/- 10days.
Will also be driving down from Montreal so if you're near I-95 it could be picked up on my way down....
    Thanks already

Gary & I have two scooters, you can have your pick. We live in Gainesville, so it would be easy to catch up with you when you are here.

Aeris Voyager (mako clone) Scooter A:
    $1,100
    comes with 2 chargers
face plate upgraded to aluminum April 2003
    high-density lead acid battery
    1-owner
    never flooded, doesn't leak
this scooter is in great condition and has been well taken care of

    Mako - Scooter B:
    $900 or best offer
    comes with charger
    face plate upgraded to aluminum
    high-density lead acid battery
    home-made scooter rack
This scooter works fine, but has an interesting history

Flooded once - April 2003 - the face plate imploded at the Henkle (which is why we replaced them all with aluminum). Took it to Steve G, he told me to replace the battery. He said the motor compartment stayed dry because there were no other issues with the scooter. I have done 70 dives on the scooter since then.

I was careless putting the scooter together once (probably in 2004) and nicked the nose cone where it seats to the o-ring. This caused a small leak during dives - about a spoonful of water gets in. Replacing the nose cone might fix it. After the flooding and talking to Steve about fresh spring water not really being a big problem I didn't get too uptight about it (spoke to him once about it for reassurance though).
I have never taken it to the ocean, only fresh water.

Other than the stuff above I don't think so - I think the only difference we have ever noticed is the name printed on the outside and the color.

FYI - the Aeris may be taken, not sure yet...

Yup - Steve G gave me an o-ring to try out but it didn't fix it. I tried to buy a new nose cone, but he said it wasn't worth the money and to just keep it in the springs. Maybe a thicker one would do... never tried it after that.
